I’m not talking about the social lies that you pull out when canceling dinner plans/avoiding your mother/insisting to your doctor that you only drink one glass of wine a week. I mean, when was the last time you lied to someone you are in a relationship with or want to be, when was the last time you lied to someone love? Did you do it because you didn’t think the other person would understand your motives, because you were embarrassed or scared they would find something out about you? I’m not convinced any of us want total honesty at all times, but there is a line. What do you think? When is it okay – when isn’t it? Oh, and one more thing: Do you think you can tell when your lover/friend/husband/wife is lying to you? Use a fake name, if you want, and ‘fess up. Feeling any regret? Or happy you got away with it?
